Sebastian’s family sets up reward fund for capture of killer

Sebastian’s family has set up a fund that will reward those who help bring the killer of their son to justice. You can help with the capture and the arrest of the murderer by contributing the fund.

Gainesville attorney Gloria Fletcher is administering the fund through her office. Ms. Fletcher is a longtime member of the community and a respected lawyer.

Gainesville moms at loss over Sebastian’s death

Mothers in Gainesville, Florida, are are expressing their grief over Sebastian’s death. In a blog post on Gainesville Moms.com, one local mom poured out her feelings:

I am still trying to understanding this horrific act of violence.  My daughter was friends with Sebastian. Here was a kid who was in his HOME.  Not causing trouble out and about…but playing video games with a friend.  Home is supposed to be a safe place.  I couldn’t breathe when my daughter told me what had happened.

Remember Sebastian and bring his killer to justice

A bright, young, loved, man Sebastian Ochsenius, was senselessly killed in his home in the early hours of June 29, 2010. An unknown person broke into the house of Sebastian’s family in Gainesville, Florida, and shot him several times. Sebastian died in his father’s arms before medical personnel could arrive.

As of July 2, the killer remains at large.

The senseless tragedy has stirred a strong reaction in Gainesville. The Alachua County sheriff’s department is actively seeking all leads in finding the killer; Sebastian’s friends at Buchholz High School have held a car wash to raise funds for a reward and a nighttime memorial was held for .

This blog is dedicated to the memory of Sebastian and efforts to bring his killer to justice.
